You did great! We are all told that when breastfeeding its important for the baby to receive the colostrum that the breast produce the first week and afterwards the body makes milk that provides antibodies. So you have provided your baby with the necessary immunity. So don’t feel guilty about wanting to stop; as long as your baby is healthy and happy; and you are healthy/happy that is all that matters. As for me; I breastfeed our little one for two weeks and have been pumping the rest of the time. In all honesty I would have probably stopped but after wanting to stop after 3 months of pumping; our baby refused to take formula so I continued and she is now 10 months. I plan on stopping when she is one years old. Its been a hard long road…its like being tied to a pump. On family vacations i have my hand-held pump. I pump every 3 to 4 hours. It is going to be nice to have time again without worrying about pumping. If we have a 3rd child; i think i’ll just breastfeed that child for one m
