I would like to point out the those who dislike the sight of the cross to consider where we would be now if Christ had not made the sacrifice that He did. It was Christ’s destiny to die on the cross to save mankind. Christ died on the cross to save humanity from sin and rose from the dead 3 days later. In essence, he gave humanity a second chance. What you may be feeling when you see the cross is hope of renewal or a second chance at something. I know that you were injured in an auto accident a number of years ago. Perhaps you subconsciously are reflecting on the fact that you could have died, but were spared. In other words, you were given a second chance. I think of the crucifixion in a very personal way. I think to myself how amazing it is that Christ gave His life for ME (and everyone else, of course). How unworthy I am, but He did it anyways because He loves me that much.
