My mom is a Doctor and I just talked to her about this yesterday. I rarely have pineapple but went on kind of a fruit binge yesterday and had almost a whole one. The acid from the fruit can make your tongue feel like you’ve burnt it. Don’t worry, though. It’s not harmful, just uncomfortable. Apparently it happens cause of a plant protease enzyme in pineapples called ‘bromelain’. If you’re still worried, here’s a site with the symptoms of food allergies: http://www.medicinenet.com/food_allergy/… Symptoms usually start out within a few minutes to the first hour after eating with the mouth itching and difficulty swallowing or breathing. Hope all goes well! 🙂 Congrats on baby-to-come!!
