Is it normal to experience a low grade fever following root canal?

While I would not say that it is “normal” for this to happen, I can also tell you that it is not unusual, either. Many times, root canals are done in order to treat a tooth or teeth that are infected. When the procedure is performed, even though we are doing something that is good for your tooth and your body, it can still cause some inflammation. Since there is (often) already infection present, then more inflammation is created, it is not unusual for a low-grade fever to occur.
