I have been to prison twice, both times on drug related charges. The first time was back in 2000 while I was serving in the United States Navy–I was placed in the Army Confinement Facility in Mannheim Germany and then transferred to the Naval Consolidated Brig in Charleston, SC. At that time, prisoners WERE NOT in any way shape or form allowed internet access. There were only a few computers “behind the wall” that even had access to the internet and those were in the case manager’s offices. In fact, it is a rules violation for a prisoner to even touch a computer that is connected to any type of network. There were two stand alone computers in each cell block that were for resume and letter writing purposes, a computer in the library for legal research and the computer lab for educational purposes–none of which had internet access. I was discharged from the brig in Aug 2002, so that information is almost 6 years old. I would suspect that whoever this is probably has it in good with a
