The most sensible thing to do is make another appointment specifically to draw your doctors attention to the lump then he/she can be accurate in their examination. Chances are it was so small when you last went for a smear that it has been overlooked, most doctors concentrate o helping their patients relax for that type of an exam, so won’t have given much thought to a more thorough exam.
