Is it necessary to survey all students in every grade level, or are sampling services available?

Participating districts may choose the grade levels to be surveyed. Generally speaking, and to preserve statistical integrity, districts with less than 1000 students per grade level should NOT sample. Districts with over 1000 students per grade level should consider sampling. (Note: Districts with grade-level enrollments of over 1000 students that have been selected as part of the statewide sample, or are located in the Special Study Area along the Texas/Mexico border, are required to sample unless otherwise approved by the Principal Investigator for the project.) No district should undertake sampling on its own without consulting The Texas School Survey.
