Is it necessary to protect the environment at whatever cost?
We must all be aware of the environment, and do the things necessary to maintain it for future generations. The problem is, what is necessary. The greenies would have us riding horses to reduce air pollution, but never consider what 65 billion daily piles of horse poop will do to the environment. The other side says its all a big joke. It isn’t a all or nothing proposition. If you make all cars battery powered, then you have to find a way to discard all those batteries in a few years. All industry throughout the world depends on energy and oil. nearly everything we touch, see, feel, hear is a derivative of the oil/plastics industry. A recent story on CNN talked about spending 30 trillion dollars just to reduce the global temperature 2 degrees for 2 to 4 years. Do what is necessary, yes, but not everything we hear is necessary. Much of it is political, even some of the scientific findings and reports are politically motivated. The issue seems to have become polarized, either lib or con.
