It is strongly recommended for any type of valve and necessary to meet warranty requirements that may be associated with noise and vibration problems. The pump discharges very turbulent liquid and it requires a short distance to straighten out before passing through a valve of any kind. Otherwise the valve may chatter and vibrate causing not only noise but wear problems.
