Is it necessary to create a company to access Lachesis funds?
No. Investment in a project is acceptable. However it must be clear how the project will develop, either being transformed into a company or a licence deal. For larger investments it is normally expected that a spin out company is the exploitation vehicle. A key objective of the Lachesis Fund is to drive projects to a point where they are closer to commercial exploitation, or able to raise external funding in their own right. This may be via a licence deal to an existing company or via a company newly established for the purpose. In some cases, funding will be awarded to a project and a company will be established at a later stage.
