Gel should not be used in conjunction with UV systems. Gel absorbs the UV light. It is preferable to use mineral oil in the treatment of porous psoriatic plaques since mineral oil will create a smoother surface which minimize unwanted light scattering and enhances light penetration. There is no need to use mineral oil in the treatment of vitiligo or stretch marks.
