Is it my fault the motorcyclist tried to overtake me whilst i was overtaking another car?
Motorcycles usually (well, good ones) hang to the right of a car so he or she can be seen easily by a car driver glancing in his or her mirror. Almost all of us also use lights in the daytime too so that it attracts the attention of car drivers in mirrors and stuff. My guess is that you executed the overtake and he was travelling too fast to slow down and tuck behind or follow you so his only real option at the time (other than slamming into the back of you or braking and locking the wheels) was to skim past. Stupid – yes! Hopefully it has taught him a lesson that he can ride away from. Im guessing that you where in the country or a rural area considering there was a tractor. Usually a motorcyclists haven – even on a chilly novembers day 🙂 Not your fault.
