Is it also legal to refund money to parents for cheerleading camp fees, and other uniform items that are not reusable? None of the previously mentioned reimbursements were written anywhere so there is no proof of how fundraised moneys were to be spent. Parents were told by the cheerleading advisor (who has since been fired for committing fraud) that if they paid for uniforms and camp fees in the beginning of the school year, they would receive a refund at the end of the year. The parents were asked to participate in a fundraiser midway through the first semester. The money they raised was deposited into the cheerleading account at the school. The parents now expect a refund of the money they “fronted” in the beginning of the year. Only parents that raised enough money to cover the cost of the uniform and other fees (what they paid into the account) would be eligible to receive a refund.
