Is it legal to mandate health care professionals to work more than 16 hours a day?
No. Unless the Employer has agreed to a limit on the number of hours of work, they have the discretion to determine how many hours you work in a day and a week. We have advocated this issue and currently legislation has been introduced to limit mandatory overtime, but more work needs to be done and more support is necessary to make it law.
