First, IANAL. When you download, there obviously is a chance that you could be flagged as downloading pirated content (regardless of whether or not you have the content already). Fighting this would be a headache but I think in the end, it would probably be dismissed. Now that said, keep in mind that the content would have to be a VHS version of the content in digital form, not a copy from a DVD since there is extra content (higher resolution, extra scenes, commentary, language support, etc…). Now the content providers will have a very different view of this since it is in their interest to generate as much revenue by reselling you the same content several times (ex. how many editions of Star Wars does one really need – Original VHS, The Collectors Edition VHS, the Refinished VHS version, the DVD version, the Trilogy DVD, the Collectors DVD version, etc…). While it may not be legal to download the VHS torrent of the movie, my conscience wouldn’t weigh too heavily on this as long as
