Is it legal for a business to give only two sick days a year?
This is illegal. All countries have a labour code that provides for annual leave, sick leave and other leaves owing to issues like funerals of close loved ones. The least number of days of sick leave granted in many countries is seven (7). There may be slight variations in different countries. Apart from the provisions of the law, employers and employees enter contracts which might specify additional conditions and regulations. Such conditions and regulations must be within the constitution. After fully utilizing one’s sick leave, any more off days thanks to sickness is eats into the employees annual leave.
