Is it just me that finds Cheryl Coles success extremely irritating?
I haven’t watched TV for 14 years now. I do go on line though… so I know who Cheryl Cole is, but have never heard her sing, have never heard her talk… and have seen a few photos where she looks like a young woman with a lot of makeup on, and nothing to differentiate her from hundreds of thousands of others. But this is the nature of fame and celebrity. It is all about fooling the mass, creating a market around the average… and businessmen making fortunes out of the negligible talent of others… and succeeding despite having no talent themselves. The idea that Simon Cowell is capable of recognising musicality… is like suggesting a chimpanzee is a good actor because it once played the part of a chimpanzee… which it copied from a clip of a chimpanzee it saw on ‘youtube’. It’s not Cheryl Cole I find irritating… it is the slavish adoration that people pour upon these very average individuals.
