Is it important to get J.P. Losman started early?
“A benefit that J.P. has is that he has started some games here. He’s been in our system for three years. He is a player who understands the game of football; he lives and breathes it; he knows what’s expected of him. He knows also that he has some help around him in Mewelde [Moore], Roydell [Williams], Nick [Narcisse], he knows he does not have to make every play. They key for J.P. this year is to play within himself and lead our football team.” Can you comment on Southern’s offense? Southern’s offensive coordinator [David Oliver] was with us here for three years, so he knows us inside and out; and in turn, we know him inside and out. There will be some wrinkles that we throw and some wrinkles that he’ll throw at us. Our defense has been seeing the same sort of offense they’ll see Saturday for the past two weeks now. It is a matter of executing, breaking on the ball and making tackles. Brandt Quick played running back and has now moved to linebacker. How has he handled the transition?
