Is it important for restaurants to be featured in food guides like the Michelin Guide?
I don’t think so. Maybe five years from now. Michelin stars are good if you cater to that segment. But if you cater to mainland gamblers, I don’t think so. Of course, at the bottom end, it is always better to have one star than not. If you get it, maybe it is good, so that people at least have the idea to try your restaurant even once. It doesn’t guarantee you good business, that’s all that I am saying. Is word of mouth more important? I think so, at least in Macau.
