Is it important for me to floss everyday?
Flossing everyday is extremely important. Our mouths are never truly clean because they are always inhabited by bacteria. Bacteria digest even the tiniest particles of food. The sticky reside deposited on the teeth after the bacteria digest the food particles is known as plaque. Plaque accumulates during the day, particularly in places where your toothbrush cannot reach. If plaque is left to harden into tartar (calculus), the results could be irritation of the gums-or even worse, the results could be inflammation and gum disease. It is fairly simple, however, to keep your teeth free of nasty plaque and tartar buildups. The solution is one of maintaining healthy brushing and flossing habits. The flossing helps to reach where the toothbrush has no access-between the teeth. So, flossing, in addition to brushing, helps you to keep your teeth polished and to control bad breath.
