Is it important for A jewish community to have a synagogue?
Yes. A synagogue is the Jewish form of a church. It is just as important as a church. Obviously, it is more important in an Orthodox (very strict about the rules in Judaism) community than a Reform (very loose about the rules of Judaism) community. Still, it is needed to have daily, Shabbat, and holiday services and religious school. So, yes it is important.
