Is it illegal to watch a movie online?
In the movie industries eyes, watching without paying is absolutely, definately illegal. The only problem with that is that they would struggle to prove it in any court! The courts themselves are far more interested in tracking down users that are sharing/giving out the movies for free, or selling illegal copies for a price, rather than punishing those that merely watch them online. If you download them before you watch them, then they have the proof they need to charge you, its as simple as that- its up to you as to whether you want to take the chance of getting caught or not. If there are websites letting you watch a new entire movie for free with an american webname (eg ending in “.com”), just dont expect them to be around for very long!
Downloading movies is not illegal. Someone uploading them and sharing them is. So using a site like http://www.watchnewmoviesfree.net/ is not actually illegal.
