Yes…it is. Regardless of where the game is pirated to, it is still illegal. Copyright free materials can be torrented freely. Materials for which *you* hold no copyright are restricted as to what you can and can not do…if the program/file is available for free from it’s source, you are free to upload it to any site you care to, and download freely. That being said, the decision, while triggered *by* music uploads and downloads, covers *all* forms of Intellectual Property…which includes games. However, Software Piracy and Copyright Laws do exist in Canada (regardless of what Hollywood and RIAA used to claim). In fact, if memory serves, the Liberals removed the Fair Use Clause from the Canadian Copyright Act…and made it more draconian than the US’s DMCA.
