Is it illegal to sell an arthritic horse without telling the buyer?
I purchased a horse a few years ago. My sister went and tried it for me as she was a few hours closer. The horse was perfectly fine when she rode it and she spent a few hours there observing it. The price was very reasonable for the cost of horses where I am, I decided that she was worth the risk. She had nice conformation and good breeding so I could have sold her as a broodmare and still got my money back. I got a carrier company to pick her up for me and deliver her. She was absolutely crazy! My husband could not even stand near her or she would lay her ears back and lunge at him (hated men). I rode her a few times and she was a lovely ride, 3 smooth gaits (would have made a nice dressage horse). But she knocked me over when I was tacking her up and hubby was not happy. My poor sister was astounded when I phoned her and told her what this horse was doing.
