Is it illegal to buy laser pointers online in NSW?

The limit on laser pointers is 1mW. All of the ones you can buy in discount stores are either at the limit, or fall way below (e.g. 0.01mW). Anything over 1mW is banned from sale in NSW – so purchasing anything over that limit is unlawful, but purchasing anything under the limit is fine. The whole reason they are banned is because people like pointing them into aircraft cockpits, which is highly dangerous on the grounds you run the risk of temporarily blinding the pilot. It is illegal to use high-wattage laser pointers in a public area, but the cheap ones which generate hardly any power? They’re fine as long as you don’t do anything stupid with them.
