If it is a controlled substance in your country then it is illegal no matter how you market or purchase it. In North America coca and it’s derivatives are a controlled substance requiring a license to trade. Pharmaceutical countries, and Coca-Cola beverages are examples of licensed businesses. Coca-cola uses the coca leaves denatured. That is, the leaves are stripped of the active cocaine ingredient so that they continue to contribute caffeine and flavour but no longer contribute the cocaine ingredient for which the soda was originally named. Cocaine is still used in various pain relievers and alertness medications and usually only available via prescription. There may be some cocaine in over-the-counter cough remedies.
