Is it Hot or cold water that shrinks the clothes in a wash?
hot – but with woolens it can be the shock of hot wash followed by cold rinse. If you wnat to shring stuff it is only natural fibres that shrink and there is a stopping point – cotton might shrink a bit adn when it reaches its maximum shrinkage nothing further will do it – Also hot washes also make the material feel differently – wool felts and becomes an integrated texture – If you have nothing to lose – try it and use lots of conditioner and experiemnt a bit at a time measuring the shrinkage. It might be simpler to do swaps with someone else.
