Is it hard to take the FreeRadical on and off?
We don’t know anybody who does. The point was to create a bike that’s versatile and nimble enough to be your everyday bike, that adds a bunch of utility without sacrificing performance. We think of the FreeRadical as an attachment that creates a sport-utility bicycle, rather than as an accessory that you put on when you know you’re going to carry something. It’s a conceptual shift. One of the great things about it is that the utility is always there, ready to pick up an unexpected package at the post office or a friend at the bar. If you know you’re not going to need to carry anything, you can take the racks off in less than a minute and shave some weight. And if you really want to take it off with frequency, you can get quick-releases for the three attachment bolts and the extra section of chain.
