It’s not hard if you are willing to give it a lot of dedication and practice. You are probably not going to sound great overnight. If you are willing to accept that and not give up, it really isn’t a hard instrument at all. A lot of that has to do with your playing style too. I play punk rock rhythm guitar and it’s much easier than say, lead guitar in a country band. Please, avoid the temptation of buying a Squire Stratocaster. They are notorious pieces of junk that sound horrible and will have you giving up before you even start. Instead, go to a guitar store and talk to the people there. Explain that you are a beginner, tell them what your favorite kind of music is, etc. and they will help get you set up with the right gear for your particular situation. Once you have a guitar in your hand, start practicing. Find a song that you know by heart with only a few chords in it and learn those chords. Get your fingering and strumming right and then see if you can play along with it. Stay aw
