Is it hard to become a street sketch artist?

Hi. In many places you need a license to be a street artist, so I’d check with the city or town before starting. I have never drawn or painted for money outside, but I have painted many many times outside and people always ask me if I would draw or paint them. My guess is that you would get business, especially if you’re in a busy or touristy area. From my experience, I can tell you that people are not going to expect to pay a lot. I would think $10 to $15, maybe $20 is about what people would pay. But that’s not bad if you can really bang them out in 5-15 minutes. I have to tell you also to expect people to stand around staring, asking questions that seem self-evident, like “Are you and artist?” and they can get rude and in your face too sometimes. Though, most people are nice. Good luck!
