Is it good or bad to block basement vents in the summer?
Vents, doors and windows should be kept CLOSED all year round. Warmer, more humid air is attracted to your cooler basement. “Fresh air” coming into your basement is also bringing in humidity with it. This causes condensation problems ranging from sweating pipes to damp, musty basements. Get a good dehumidifier to control humidity.
