It is not feasible – I know because I’ve done it myself for several months in the other direction (living in London, working in Birmingham). It is physically exhausting, mentally frustrating and financially draining. The poster who pointed out that the trains take a total of around 1hr 50 mins is only showing part of the picture. You presumably don’t actually live at Birmingham New Street or work at Canary Wharf station, so you will have to add in the travelling time to and from the stations. For me, even when I was living in Canary Wharf, the door-to-desk journey time to Birmingham University was about 2 and a half hours. If you wanted to try it, the best way would be Virgin train New St – Euston then the tube down to Canary Wharf. Bear in mind that it will cost a ridiculous amount to travel to London at peak morning times – I cost me £30 going to Birmingham, and I think that was with a Young Persons Railcard.
