It depends on your utilization of heat and overall plant efficiency. It is possible to obtain an overall efficiency of over 70% if all heat is utilized for process heating. Efficiencies are less for applications that are heating and cooling only. A site that consumes a large amount of natural gas relative to electricity may be a profitable net power generator. The profitability is unknown as it would depend on the market price for electricity that spikes in the months when the generator is required to operate.
