Is it fair that the job centre wont back date my claim from when i claimed online?
Unfortunately your appeal may not be successful. If you didn’t receive a phone call from the job centre after you made your claim online, you would be expected to make contact again within a reasonable time limit. The benefit decision maker would class reasonable time limit as a couple of days, not four weeks. Job centre claims are held on the systems for 30 days after initial contact is made.Claims are automatically deleted after this period if you haven’t completed your claim or not attended your interview. The best way to make a claim is by filling in the forms yourself. If you do this, your appointment will be booked straightaway and you shouldn’t have any major problems.Don’t make a claim online or over the phone. The benefit questions asked online are different to those asked on paper claim forms which will only lead to more errors and problems.
