Is it fair for parents to get mad about their teen smoking pot?
Yeah, but you aren’t being raised by your young pot smoking college student parents, you are being raised by the older parental version of them. They have to do that or they would feel like bad parents. If everyone was only as protective of their kids as they were of their teenage selves there would be a lot more messed up/dead kids in the world.
