A. The Cove Point pipeline IS coated to inhibit corrosion. In addition, the pipeline is operated with a cathodic protection system that also inhibits corrosion. The cathodic protection system must be checked regularly by Dominion in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 49 Part 192. Compliance with this Code is enforced by the Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline Safety.
