Is it expensive to eat out in Rome?
I live in Rome, and I agree with the users above me that have said that here it’s possible to eat something good with not so much money. I’ve travelled a bit and i can say with no doubt that, for example, eat in Rome is really less expensive than in London and REALLY REALLY REALLY less expensive than in Paris. Of course it depends about what you want to eat: if you want a 5 star restaurant you’ll spend a lot: for example, if you go to “Clemente alla Maddalena”, near the Parliament and the Pantheon, you’ll pay 25€ (31$) for an appetizer. But just in front of this restaurant, in the same square, you’ll find other 5 restaurants where you can have lunch or dinner with 15/20€. Like someone else suggested, a good idea is to avoid those restaurants that have their list wrote in english: they’re touristic places, and you’d pay a lot to eat not so good food.
