Is it easy to take online courses at Glendale Community College?
In an effort to showcase existing programs and forge new partnerships, Glendale Community College trustees have cleared the way for a State of the College address. The event’s title is tentative, and details have yet to be worked out. Trustees and event planners said they expect the yearly event to be sometime this spring. “It will be a wholesome approach to what’s going on at GCC and some of our future plans,” trustee Armine Hacopian said. “We haven’t wrapped our brains around it yet, but it needed a board action item so we could really take it from the idea phase to planning and implementation.” Whether the event will resemble Glendale Unified School District’s annual State of the Schools address is unknown. As one of California’s largest two-year colleges, Glendale continues to grow and adapt to the needs of its community, and area residents continue to express their satisfaction with the college’s excellent programs and services. Glendale Community College offers online classes in three formats: Online classes in which students complete their coursework via the internet (though some online classes require that students travel to campus for a class orientation and/or exams). Hybrid classes in which some class hours each week are completed by students via the internet while others take place in a classroom setting. Web-enhanced classes meet in the classroom setting during all class hours but make use of the internet for communication, out-of-class assignments, and learning resources.
