Is it easy to become a Greek citizen ?
You need to be legally resident in Greece for 7 years & in the presence of two witnesses, who must be Greek citizens—before the mayor or chairman of the village council where they live, which states they wish to be naturalized. You must also make an application for naturalisation to the Ministry of the Interior. If you’re in Greece at the moment, find yourself a Greek solicitor who speaks English & ask them for advice on how to become a naturalised citizen. As a British citizen & a citizen of an EU member state there will no issues around you moving there to settle down but you need to ensure you register with the authorities and keep your paperwork safe so you can prove how long you’ve been in Greece – utility bills, bank statements, pay slips will all be useful as well.
