Is it easier to become a police officer, or a firefighter/paramedic?

If you are referring to the hiring process, then I would have to say it would be easier to become a firefighter and/or paramedic. I know a lot of them with criminal backgrounds, while all police officers applicants are subject to criminal background checks including traffic offenses and juvenile records, credit checks, previous employment history checks, psychological exams, and a much stricter (in most cases) and longer, more detailed, hiring process than are firefighters and paramedics. There is not as much concern about a firefighters morality and personality as there is a police officer’s as he will not come into direct contact with the public as much as a cop.
