Is it dangerous to use the Greyhound bus service in the USA?
It is most definitely not dangerous riding Greyhound buses. If it was dangerous, the company would no longer be in service. Like any other traveler in any other country, you need to travel smart and keep your wits about you — don’t flash money and be careful to note the conditions around you. But you need to do that when you travel to any strange city, even one that’s 50 miles away. Keep in mind that the US/Canada are unimaginably large. Travel from coast to coast (Boston to San Francisco, Toronto to Vancouver) takes days and involves seemingly endless hours on a bus. That said, you will have many stops and many chances at adventure. If you’ve made online friends in various cities, you can stop and have some great times along the way. That will greatly ease the grind of endless movement in a bus. Obviously, you should also have a list of museums, parks, restaurants and other attractions along the way. (I’m in the Washington, DC area, and it has several days worth of museums, sights an
