Is it customary to tip a funeral director?
Having a good ‘send off’ for a loved one is important, because it is often the final thing any of us can do for them, so if the funeral director helped give you good memories of this sad, but important, occasion, there is nothing wrong with offering your thanks as a tip. The director will certainly be pleased to know how much you appreciated their attention and care, and you will know that you have rewarded their effort. And, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you did all you could to ensure your father’s life was suitably honoured and commemorated.
