Is it correct to say Niagara Falls, Canada or Niagara Falls, Ontario?

Properly, it’s Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Ontario is a Province; Canada is a Country. Just like saying Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. A Canadian Province is much like an American State. Yes, definitely NOT on the US side. My son lives there – definitely Canadian but there is a Niagara Falls, New York (State) as well – just over the bridge.
