Although the rumour has persisted for a number of years, it is not correct. Graduating in Canterbury Cathedral does not entitle alumni to the privilege of using the venue for any other purpose. In order to get married in Canterbury Cathedral, you must be a member of the Foundation of the Cathedral, and have special permission from the Archbishop.
