Is it considered to be acceptable to throw yourself a housewarming party?
In some circles it’s totally acceptable in others it’s considered tacky. It all depends on your circle of friends. If your friends say its acceptable then by all means go ahead, obviously your circle of friends accept it. It’s like throwing yourself a birthday party, some say it’s fine others say it’s not. The difference is whether or not you ask for gifts or just invite them and they choose to bring gifts or not. If you don’t ask for gifts and it is totally acceptable, just invite friends and say it’s a housewarming party, please join me in celebrating and leave the gift issue alone. That way no one feels pressure to bring a gift and no one can say your being tacky by asking for gifts.
