Is it compulsory for school bus drivers to wear seat belts?
How many School Bus accidents is it going to take to realize that seat belts should be mandetory on School Buses? Whatever the cost and whatever it takes to ensure that the seat belts are on and properly fastened on each Child should be the responsibily of anyone who drives a School Bus! If drivers don’t want that responsibility they should not be driving a School Bus! The Board of Education must adopt policies, guidelines, and regulations to ensure that all passengers, including the driver, wear these belts or harnesses or both, whenever the bus is in motion. However, a school bus driver may not be held personally liable for the failure of passengers to wear safety belts as required by the Board’s regulations.
