Is it cheaper to buy airline tickets ahead of time or wait till the last minute?
Airlines typically have 21-day, 14-day and 7-day advance purchase fares. However, if they notice specific routes have seats empty, they will run last minute sales to fill the seats. Another thing that influences sale prices if price wars. If one airline runs a great sale, the airline that mainly competes with them in that market with generally match them.
