Is it better to use a regulator with a nut and nipple on drop stations (outlet headers)?

Answer For low to medium flow applications Yes. Some line regulators can be purchased with a nut and nipple on the inlet side. Normally the fitting that is installed on the drop station is a “C” size. “C” size is a CGA (Compress Gas Association) standard. The CGA connection for fuel gas is 025 (left hand) and the CGA connection for oxygen is 024 (right hand). The amount of flow depends on the make and model number as well as the line pressures. Before use, always check pressures at the inlet of the cutting torch with a set of testing gauges.
