Is it better to run the fan constantly and eliminate the solar panel?
Not necessarily. In most parts of the world, humidity increases on summertime nights allowing the fan to draw in some humid air at night. While this air is still dryer than the air trapped within the covered boat, the solar panel allows for daytime operations only when the outside air is the driest.
