Is it better to marry my Thai fiancee in Thailand or back in the US?
This depends on your situation. The K1 visa will allow your Thai fiancee to come to America for the purposes of marriage. The K1 Visa however expires within 90 days after entering the US. If you do not marry your Thai fiancee within 90 days, the K1 Visa which is a single entry visa will expire. If you have property it might be best to have your Thai wedding and marriage registered in Thailand, while having an attorney draft a prenuptial agreement for you. Looking forward, getting married in Thailand with your prenuptial in place also makes it easier to divorce in Thailand should the need arise. The difference is that the K3 Visa would cut down on your paperwork for your Thai spouse obtaining her green card, so getting married in Thailand might just be the better option. The K3 Visa however takes much longer than the K1 Visa.
